In this moment my mind is blank.  Instead of accepting and enjoying my mind being still and empty, old tapes begin to play and I attempt to create something to busy my mind when there is nothing there.

Today I will be consciously aware of being still and revel in the beauty and wonder of my still mind!

Stillness, peace, love, light and blessings to us all on this quiet day of conscious awareness!

Education and knowledge by themselves do not bring inner peace to individuals, families or the society in which they live. But education combined with warmheartedness, a sense of concern for the well-being of others, has much more positive results. If you have a great deal of knowledge, but you’re governed by negative emotions, then you tend to use your knowledge in negative ways. Therefore, while you are learning, don’t forget the importance of warmheartedness.

When I was a child I was taught well what is socially acceptable in this world and what is not!

My mother was a real stickler for getting it right and being a good Mom, so one of the first things that I learned in life was to be agreeable.

I remember my lessons on YES and NO as clearly as if  it was today. The word NO was simply not acceptable in the world!  So when I was asked to do something that I really did not want to do,  inside of me a little voice would pop into my thoughts and I would say NO but outside I would go ahead and do, just because I was not supposed to say NO.  Then when I became a teenager I really didn’t care about the words YES and NO so I learned to get my own way by saying YES and not doing it.  The benefit to this was I sure got a whole lot of attention when I didn’t do it and the whole campaign to say NO to drugs, seemed very rude to me, but that is another whole story to get into later!

This brings me to today, where when I say NO, people just seem to push me once I have said it, until I finally break down and do it.  This creates a whole lot of havoc in my life with:

  • Myself
  • My Family,
  • My Friends,
  • People I Work with,
  • People In the Community
  • My Pets and
  • All of my leisure activities!

A few years ago a very wise mentor of mine took me aside when I had agreed to do something and never followed through with accomplishing what I said I would do and asked me if my YES always mean’t NO.  This sure stopped me in my tracks as I started to laugh and said YES, then he asked me if my NO always mean’t YES, and a whole new world of understanding opened up for me.  My messages had sure gotten mixed up because of my early programming in life and not being able to say and mean what I said because of the social conditioning in my young life.

So what did I do with all of this learning?

I became aware of my behaviors and patterns when using the words YES and NO, I observed how other people in my life treated me when I used the words YES and NO, and I learned how to make my NO mean NO and my YES mean YES.

Here it is:

When someone asks me to do something I chose not to do I become socially correct and use the word YES!  I simply say:

  • YES, I WOULD LOVE TO, BUT I CAN’T!  It sure is amazing what people do when I say this, they back off and do not ask me anymore or,

When I know the word NO is necessary for the other person to hear  I become assertive and say

  • NO !  NO WAY, ABSOLUTELY NOT! and once again the person will back away knowing that I mean what I say!

If you realize that your NO means YES and your YES means NO, these two little tips may help!

Enjoy your Day or Not!

Peace, love, light and blessings!

It’s all about teams in our world today!

Whatever I do, wherever I go there are teams involved. Anything involving more than one person is a team!

  • Relationships
  • Marriage
  • Family
  • Work
  • Sports
  • Leisure
  • Community
  • Education
  • Spirituality

Everyone of these things requires team work in order to succeed, learn and grow!  I believe in my world today Team Building Skills need to be an emphasized  part of our teaching systems.  This would be one giant step forward for all of humanity to work closer together for unity and world peace!

Peace, love, light and blessings!

Thank you Creator!  We are all one, we are all related.

A few years ago I was doing a lot of training programs within industry and with people from all walks of life.

I always enjoy working with people and meeting new people especially when I am immersed in facilitating training programs.  I have learned through many experiences to expect the unexpected when you least expect it, and this situation certainly fit into that category.

A young lady walked up to me and was quite excited about meeting me.  She stated that she had heard many good things about me, that I was very wise, and she knew that I had all of the answers that she was looking for her in life!

At that point I felt extremely uncomfortable and uneasy, so I began to look for the reasons that I would be experiencing these feelings.  When I am looking for information I always end up asking questions of myself, so I started my search through asking me questions!

  • Where would this person get this information from?
  • I’m wise, what have I done to make someone believe that I am wise?
  • I have all of the answers to questions that she needs answered to get her life together!  What could I possibly know about her life?
  • How could I possibly have the answers that she needs for her life?

Although I was asking these questions I was still becoming more and more uncomfortable with this whole situation and put it down to the appearance of low self worth and nervousness in this moment, but something was still not sitting right for me!

At this point I stopped, examined my thoughts, checked out my beliefs and did a quick run through on how each of my thoughts create a belief, and how those beliefs will create an experience and this is when I came up with the understanding of what I call today THE PEDESTAL SYNDROME!

This syndrome can be very easily explained through this example and these definitions.

The woman in this example placed me in the position where I had all of the answers that she needed to get her life together.  She was viewing me as the expert which can be considered a compliment in the highest regard, however, this compliment placed me in the position through her perception, of being on a pedestal.

The definition of pedestal really applies here:

  • Position of being exalted or admired a position which somebody admires another person so much that he r she thinks that person is perfect.  Encarta

Syndrome is:

  • Things that form a pattern a group of things or events that form a recognizable pattern especially of something that isundesirable. Encarta

This is when I quickly realized how my thoughts, beliefs and experiences have taught me that:

  • When someone places me on a pedestal it’s a long way to fall from the pedestal to the ground.
  • I will never have the answers from my perspective that another person may want to hear from their perspective.
  • What I know is no better that what another person knows!
  • These points keep me from falling or being pushed from the major heights of the imaginary pedestal that others place me on.
  • I look forward to stumbling and tripping over myself, my thoughts, beliefs and experiences rather than falling from the pedestal that some one else has created for me.
  • I am not perfect, but I am perfectly O.K. the way I am right now!
  • No one is perfect but they are perfectly O.K. the way they are right now!
  • I am me, a unique and gifted human being!

Every human being sees or observes their world through their own personal eyes, listens to or hears their world through their own person ears, and feels or senses their world through their personal knowledge, touch and intuition!

I therefore, can only assist people to find their own personal answers within them, and in this way I can stay away from Ego and Pedestal issues!

Peace, love, light and blessings

Have you ever stopped to wonder the reasons for people being so critical of other people?

I have listened to criticism my whole life, either people being critical of me, or of them being critical of others who are sometimes not even present to protect themselves. I have placed this in those things that are no longer important in my life, however, when I hear these comments made I still feel annoyed.  How can we today stop this criticism?

Today I take responsibility for me and know that only I can be  consciously aware of any criticism I make, knowing that what I say about others, is really me talking about myself and my behaviors.  Thank you Creator!

Peace, love, light and blessings!
