The Elephant Rope

As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made

no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?
Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

The many paths that I have walked in life have led me to the place that I am today!

What paths have you walked?

One of the paths I walked led me to work in the prison system with men.  In this system I learned a whole lot about what the word “SURVIVAL” really means.

One of my greatest teachers was a street person named “Terry”.  He had a very unique way of living in our world and it was a way I never would have seen as being real (and Wow, was it real)!

Terry had many problems while he was growing up, and ended up homeless at a very young age.  His parents had abandoned him, and he did what he needed to do to survive.  One of his behavior patterns was to use the system to take care of his food, clothing, and shelter, only when he could not do this himself.  He had lived on the street for many years and was very skilled in finding everything that he needed to find to keep warm and happy.  That also included using alcohol to keep him what he called “warm from the inside, out”.  He became an alcoholic, however, he never lost his ability to look after his basic needs.  He would live on the street all summer, and in the late fall he learned to commit a small crime that would provide him warm shelter in the prison system for no more than 6 months over the cold, winter months.  When I first met him, it was late fall and he would be incarcerated only until the spring.  When I asked him how he managed this, he stated that this had become a way of life for him when he was young and would be placed in youth facilities and foster homes and he would run away every summer to have his freedom and then go back to the system for the winter months.  Had I not met Terry, I would never have believed that this was possible today.  He was just the first of many that I have met in my life with very simple, yet sophisticated living skills.  I always remember that the paths we follow are sometimes curved, they may be through webs and tangles, or the dirt and mud of life!

They may be slippery, or smooth, however, the path of life is full of excitement, challenge, grief, love, happiness, fear, strife and failure or success.

What is the reason that we walk these paths?

We have chosen this life to learn, to grow and to share with others who we pass on our individual paths in life.

Today as I freely walk with the sunshine beaming down upon me, feeling clearer, more alive, accepted and loved because I am now choosing to share all that I am, all that I have I will remember to share a smile with all of those I meet on my path!

Peace, love, light and blessings!

Procrastination does not exist when I move in the moment!

When the time is right all movement is fluid, alive and free!  Completion is inevitable with movement in this moment.

Forcing a flow, is like pushing a river against the current.  My energy is important to me, so in order to get it all done it is important to do it in the moment when it is flowing smoothly and the time is right!

My energy is important to me, maintaining my energy is simple when I move now!

You, as a society, are time, those who go through life in no time at all. They have forgotten how to listen to their own music and are not able to discern the melody which flexibility plays such a great part in. Flexibility comes from the mind registering time in the now, not looking forward to the future which will up the beat and the human will become out of sync with their own internal rhythms of the inner being. These rhythms are crucial for you to understand. The human has been provided with internal body rhythms that will assist them to go through life, but it is perceived to have learned to flex only one organ in your body, which is the brain. The brain is not where flexibility comes from. The brain provides you with rigidity, not flexibility. The brain controls all of that which is outside of oneself and it is in knowing this that the human being can become aware of the flexibility, which exists within ones, self, guided by the mind. Flexibility of the body is important from a deeper aspect of oneself. The flexibility of today is seen as the function of the human body to be able to bend and sway and move in time with the music of life. It is unfortunate that the human does not recognize that the music comes from within and that each human has a different song playing. It is a unique song that every human chooses before arriving on the planet. There are those who go through life in 3 /3 time those who go through life m 3 /4 life’s journey on this planet with ease, not with dis ease. It is when this flexibility which is meant to be for the good of one’s being is discounted, left behind that much of the dis ease which is created in life becomes evident. Stress is the number 1 cause of illness, and it is created through the dis ease in which humans go through life. This dis ease in life is created by outside messages received from the brain which are translated into time by those who are changing their tune in order to meet the demands of the outside world. Your personal ability to be flexible is limited today by the many beats which you need to keep up with in order to belong, be happy, feel included and to be a part of all that you believe that you need to be a part of, that being the social conditioning which exists on your planet. In turn what you have traded for this is the beauty of life itself! Flexibility will provide you with the means to go through life dancing to the tunes which are you. The mind is flexible and will show you the way to be in touch with your internal rhythm through your inner sense and inner being. The mind does not allow the breaks, strains, sprains and splinters of life to trip you up and immobilize you from achieving what you were meant to do. That is simply be human, a human being, dancing through your life with meaning, purpose, direction, wellness and in rhythm with all that is around you. Dis ease is curable by finding flexibility within your own rhythm and dancing through life in your being. It is the dance of life which will move you to discover who you are and define your life purpose. The mind will give you this flexibility. At this time be aware that the brain is simply the organ, which is playing the music, the organ needs to be in tune with the mind, the mind is the conductor, which will determine what tune the organ, is to play. You are the mind, the inner sense and inner self, which is the flexibility that determines what tune the organ, is to play.  You are the mind, the inner sense and inner self, which is the flexibility that determines what tune you, play in your life and you are simply accompanied by the body and the brain.

Peace, love, light and blessings

My life is constantly moving and changing!
I am open and willing to accept changes into my life moment to moment as I journey forward through life. I am consciously aware of change and I know that I choose to change or remain the same in this moment. I create the moment and this moment assists me to see what I choose to change, and what I choose to remain the same. Change is always my choice!

Many people today are concerned about bullying and abuse!

This is my story and my understanding of bullying, where it came from in my life and how I work with it today.  Sometimes we need to understand situations from a different perspective in order to work with it!  It was previously published on this blog and I have become aware of the importance of republishing it today!

All day I had fleeting thoughts of what I needed to say about Bullying and the guides just kept reminding me to read my own book…I certainly have many chapters to write of this one. First thing to say is that until you have been bullied and abused, it certainly is difficult to understand the affect it has on you. Once again at a young age my guides entered into my life to teach me oh so very much about bullying from both sides, that of being the bullied and also being the bully. Amazingly those learnings have stuck with me throughout my life and have allowed me to walk into and work in area’s that are very difficult for some to even imagine. I remember being very young and being placed on the pedestal of being a sweet young curly headed girl who was being groomed to fit into a very lopsided society. At that time parental abuse and put downs were an acceptable means of raising children, however, in todays terms that is bullying and I certainly know how that affects ones life. Bullying by a parent is one of the toughest forms of abuse to go through, however, many of us have lived through it. From all of this bullying in my younger years I learned that those who love me bully and abuse me, so therefore, simply LOVE = PAIN and HURT so I struggled for many years with a backwards love language. If you really love me, you will hurt me…..In that anytime I tried to love myself it meant that I needed to hurt myself. Is it any wonder that physical, mental, emotional abuse became my love language? Of course not. The more I was bullied and abused, the more I felt loved! I remember learning to stand up to my abusers and my goodness where that led me to was mind blowing. I remember becoming the bully and abuser when a partner reached out to grab me for a weekly beating, and I in turn grabbed his arm, threw him over the back of a couch and stood over him with my fist in the air and stated that if he ever touched me in that way again I would have him put in jail without blinking an eye! He never did bully me again, and he left my life rapidly, because he did not want to be bullied by me! This went on with many relationships and people, in order for me to learn to walk forward in life knowing that I was loved, safe and protected inside of me and if anyone was going to abuse and bully me it would be me! I have mastered beating up on myself in this lifetime. So instead of others doing it to me to feel loved, self abuse and self bullying became the name of my game. When I said that the best defence was a strong offence, this is what I meant! When I graduated to working with bullies in the Young Offender System and The Prison System, I could sure understand where they were coming from, as well as understanding the pure paralyzing fear that occurs when you are the one being bullied. The sad thing that I know today is that both the bully and the bullied are coming from the same dysfunctional place and both of them have that same negative and backwards love language firmly ingrained in them from those who have bullied them under the guise of love! As a parent today, I am very cautious how I speak to my children and any child I am around. It is not uncommon to hear me using their negative love language to make sure that they feel accepted and cared about. Today I will need to deal with my Foster Son using very explicit negative love language that may include things like hey dummy what the F—k do you think you are doing in order for him to understand how much I love him. He in return will reply with hey you old bag, what do you think I am doing and we know that our love is secure, real for us, and totally misunderstood by others. We talk about where we have come from…..the bullying we have inflicted on others in the sake of self preservation, and the bullying that we have experienced Mentally, Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually in our lives that makes us who we are today. Human Beings who are loved in strange ways, but learning growing and being really who we are! I believe I mentioned I had a lot to say on bullying and believe it or not I have only just begun! I know this is a safe place to express myself and be understood from all polarities and perspectives. Peace, love (not backwards), light and blessings to all who have been where I have been and who may still be there today. We are not perfect, we are human!

Sometimes it sure takes a whole lot of  people  to do the simplest things!

I have had the opportunity to sit back and watch a color being picked for molding (baseboard) in a recreation complex building. It started out with the floor layers, moved the the building committee, from the building committee to the painter, from the painter to a person who is good in picking out paint colors and color schemes, from her to the painter, from the painter to the carpet layer, from the carpet layer to a board member, from the board member back to the carpet layer, from the carpet layer samples will be brought back to the painter, who will in turn forward the samples to the person who is good with choosing colors, back to the board members, to the carpet layers to finalize ordering the molding to go with the carpet and flooring! Now just imagine how many steps there were in finding the carpet and linoleum! lol!

Is there a simple way to do this! For sure!

Peace, love, light, blessings and simplicity!
