There was a point in my life where I worked with many street people who moved themselves off of the street and into the prison for the winter. This picture always brings to mind one of the most wonderful individuals I met while I was doing this work. He knew exactly what offences he needed to commit to land himself in warmth for the winter. His dog would stay with friends while he was doing time, and he would come out, be with his dog, and then go back to jail again for the winter. He had a heart of gold, and did much to help others who were first time offenders get on their feet and not come back into the system again.
